We looked at a category shaped by function alone and decided to begin again. Swiss formulation. Considered materials. Objects worthy of remaining in sight.

As a dentist, Elena believed oral care could be more than something you simply check off twice a day. She imagined a different kind of ritual. One built around elevated ingredients, unique flavor profiles, beautiful design, and formulations she felt proud to recommend.
Her conviction to create a fluoride-free alternative became the foundation of Akla. From the beginning, every formula was shaped around efficacy, comfort, and uncompromising Swiss formulation.
Irene Jondal
Co-Founder
After collaborating on a design project for Elena’s practice, Irene was approached with an idea that would grow far beyond dentistry. With nearly two decades in design and product development, she saw an opportunity to bring intention, materiality, and object design to a category that had rarely been viewed through that lens.
What began as a conversation in 2023 became Akla. A house built where formulation, design, and daily ritual meet.
