Hydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring mineral, one that makes up over 90% of our tooth enamel. It works by mimicking our own biology, filling in micro-lesions and rebuilding enamel with a material the body already recognizes as its own.
But not all hydroxyapatite is created equal.
At Akla, we use 5% pure nano-hydroxyapatite powder, not the more common pre-blended slurry paste. Powder form is notoriously difficult to work with. Hydroxyapatite is not water-soluble, which means achieving high concentrations is both technically challenging and materially expensive.
